How much do you charge?
Fees depend on a number of factors such as the size and complexity of the project and the scope of services required (see services section). Generally we charge a percentage of the construction cost of a project (excl. VAT and fees) for a full architectural service i.e. if we are involved from design through to completion of works on site. For a more restricted scope of service we charge an hourly rate or occasionally a fixed fee for very small commissions.
All architects are obliged to agree in writing the terms of their appointment, the services to be provided and the fee. There are several standard appiontment documents which can be used depending on the scale of the project. At ISIS Architecture we use the standard appointment document prepared by the Royal Incorporation of Architects in Scotland so that the scope of services and the associated fee is clearly defined before we commence work for you.
